𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗮 – The local government unit of Cantilan joins the nation today in commemorating the 129th anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal’s martyrdom at Bagumbayan, now Luneta Park in Manila.

Mayor Rodrigo L. Eleazar together with members of the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Liberty G. Cale, spearheaded the commemoration ceremony at the Cantilan Town Plaza.

The event was highlighted by an inspirational message from Mayor Eleazar, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal monument.
In his message, Mayor Eleazar emphasized the importance of self-reliance, innovation, selfless community service, and the agricultural sector, as these were just part of Dr. Jose Rizal’s legacy as a farmer and community builder during his exile in Dapitan.

Representatives from local and national government agencies attending the event joined the wreath-laying ceremony alongside the teaching staff and employees from NEMSU, SMCCI, and DepEd.

Also present and offered wreaths were uniformed men and women from the BFP, PNP, BJMP, and the Philippine Coast Guard, Cantilan Water District employees as well as representatives from the private sector, including Cantilan Bank, Incorporated, and other stakeholders.
