FARMERS AND FISHERFOLK FESTIVAL 2023

 

The LGU Cantilan led by the Local Chief Executive, Mayor Philip Arreza Pichay, successfully culminated the Farmers and Fisherfolk Month Celebration through a one-day Festival with the theme, “Masaganang Agrikultura, Maunlad na Ekonomiya.”

 

The whole day event featured various activities such as the Agri-Fishery Exhibit, Town Parade Costume Contest, Makalumang Kasuotan sa Makabagong Tugtugin Dance Contest, Raffle Draw and Larong Pinoy which showcased the skills and talents of the farmers and fisherfolk together with the products and services of the different government and private agencies.

 

Award for the Outstanding Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Cooperative and/ or Irrigators Association were given to Palasao Agriculture Cooperative, Palasao Irrigator’s Association, Tigabong Farmers Association and Ayoke Conservation Enterprise. Partner agencies from the Sangguniang Bayan Office, Department of Agriculture, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation, Cantilan Bank Inc., Bacphil Planters Fertilizers Corp., Pilmico Foods Corporation, Agway Chemicals Corp., Pigrolac, Zhing Bang Crop Protection and Bioseeds were also present to strengthen and empower the farmers and fisherfolk.

 

The LGU Cantilan through the Municipal Agriculture Office recognizes the importance of this event to give due recognition to the local farmers being the food providers and backbone of the nation. Sa tanan mag-uuma and managatay, Saludo kami sa ijo! (LGU=Cantilan Municipal Agriculture Office)
