The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) successfully conducted the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) Orientation and Users Training on June 17, 2025, at the Municipal Tourism Building in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.
This activity aims to enhance their awareness and understanding of the PNPKI system, its applications, and its significance in promoting secure and efficient digital government transactions.
-The training covered key topics such as:
-The importance of digital signatures and encryption
-How to apply for and manage a PNPKI digital certificate
-Practical demonstrations on digitally signing documents
-PNPKI’s role in supporting e-governance and data privacy
The orientation is part of the DICT’s broader thrust to promote digital transformation and cybersecurity awareness in local government units across the country, in line with Republic Act No. 10844 (DICT Act of 2015).
The DICT encourages all LGUs and public institutions to adopt PNPKI to strengthen the integrity and security of their digital transactions, especially in an increasingly digital government landscape.
