JUNE 01, 2023 | Empowering Future Educators: NEMSU Facilitates Student-Teachers’ Congress
A total of 597 pre- service teachers of North Eastern Mindanao State University attends 2023 student- teachers congress bringing the theme: “The Future of Learning: Empowering Aspiring Educators for a Rapidly Evolving World”.
The Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Dr. Annie Y. Samarca in her speech said, “The purpose of the activity is to support the total transformation of our student teachers.” The event showcases research and teaching skills, and shares experience which will contribute significantly to professional growth.
In addition, the presence of NEMSU President, Dr. Nemesio G. Loayon enlightens the crowd and draw an inspiration in the activity. He emphasizes his message towards understanding the competition in the workplace. Thus, encouraging and motivating students toward opportunities not only local but global.
Moreover, the would be- teachers of NEMSU is fortunate enough to be welcomed by the father of the cradle of towns– Cantilan, Mayor Philip A. Pichay. “My vision is to provide a better environment for a quality education in our town. So when I see board passers, it makes me fulfill my vision.” Furthermore, he uttered positive messages concerning his experiences and actual advice that are very fruitful and relevant to the pre- service teachers. “Always remember to have technical skills, human skills, and conceptual skills.”
Ultimately, this event embodies a holistic approach to teacher education. It concedes the importance of not only academic excellence but also personal growth, professional development, and the formation of lasting connections. By embracing both competition and camaraderie, NEMSU student teachers are equipped with the motivation and skills they need to excel in their future endeavors as professional educators.
