The Updating of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (LDRRM) Plan for Cantilan, Surigao del Sur officially started today, March 25, 2025, at Go Hotels, Butuan City. This four-day planning workshop, which will run until March 28, 2025, aims to strengthen the municipalityโs disaster preparedness and response strategies.
The activity is spearheaded by Cantilan Mayor Philip Arreza Pichay through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO-Cantilan), led by Engr. Ale Boy U. Duero, in partnership with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) under Alex M. Arana.
In his inspirational message, Mayor Pichay emphasized the importance of life-saving measures, highlighting the need for proactive planning and swift emergency response to protect the people of Cantilan from potential disasters.
Department heads from various local and national government agencies are participating in the workshop to ensure a comprehensive and well-coordinated disaster risk management plan for Cantilan.
