Cantilan, Surigao del Sur – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Cantilan, under the leadership of Mayor Philip Arreza Pichay, is set to host a Cataract Surgical Mission on March 16-18, 2025, at the Municipal Gymnasium, Magosilom, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur (SdS). This medical initiative aims to provide free eye surgeries to qualified beneficiaries from across the province of Surigao del Sur.

The program is a collaborative effort between LGU Cantilan, Eye Hear Foundation, Inc., Celsus Pharmaceutical Company, Philippine Red Cross and AG Buniel Optometry Clinic with the strong support from the Provincial Governor Hon. Alexander T. Pimentel, Congressman Romeo S. Momo, Sr., and Congressman Johnny T. Pimentel.

This initiative seeks to restore vision and improve the quality of life for individuals suffering from cataracts and pterygium, particularly those who lack access to specialized eye care. By addressing these preventable and treatable conditions, the mission contributes to better overall health, productivity, and well-being among the people of Surigao del Sur.
